Bletherocalyx cruchshanskii - Heaven Scent, Temu

  • A relative to the Chilean Myrtle (Luma apiculata) and Chilean Guava (Ugni molinae), this evergreen, highly fragrant flowered shrub prefers a shady, moist spot but will give you an unforgettable sight with thousands of white, myrtle like flowers opening in the Summer. Black, edible (although less tasty than Luma or Ugni) berries appear which give the plant a showy, ornamental look until early Winter. Orange, peeling bark is also a feature of the species.

  • For optimum growth, it is best to position it where it will receive partial shade, full shade. It can withstand temperatures down to -5c. An excellent starter plant in a 7cm pot.
