Punica granatum var. Chico - Pomegrante Dwarf Double Red flower

  • A rarely offered, ornamental pomegranate cultivar that has small, double-red flowers. This plant has a compact habit, although larger than the "var nana". Any established plant will flower freely on any good soil. It prefers a hot position, for example against a south facing wall but will flower in a good protected sunny position. However, it does not require as much heat as the fruiting varieties as very few fruits will develop from the flowers on this variety. The pomegranate is believed to have originated in the area of East Iran to Northern India but has been cultivated around the Mediterranean for so long (several millennia) that its true native range is not accurately known.

  • We have 8-10cm tall starter plants, ready to be posted.
