Caper bush is rarely seen in British gardens, despite being frost tolerant to -8C when dormant, this useful small, evergreen shrub has the most beautiful, white-violet flowers with numerous long stamens, a little bit similar to the Silk tree (Albizia) flowers. The flower buds are well known for its great taste and eaten fresh or pickled, just like its green fruits.
- It prefers a sunny, hot position, perhaps best if pot grown on the patio, or by a sunny wall, with very little watering. Ultimate height is 60-80cm.
