The famous Kaffir Lime (Citrus hystrix) is renowned for its glossy evergreen leaves and the unique lime flavour it adds to Thai Green curries when either the leaves or fruits are used. The Kaffer Lime can be classed as a compact shrub or perhaps very small tree which grows to a height of around 2m or slightly shorter if grown in a pot. The leaves are quite small and the wrinkled skinned,  mandarin sized fruits turn a greenish yellow when mature, yet they are often used when still green. This lovely species can be grown easily in a pot and will thrive in full sun or even dappled shade in a loam based soil. Plants that are 3-4 years old or even older will be hardy down to -6C if kept on the dry side.

We have excellent quality, 6-8cm tall, strong young plants available. 

The intended main use of this plant is to grow food for human consumption. We always recommend further research to learn the different ways in which the food source can be prepared and consumed.
