Ruby Jewels Collection

We have selected a beautiful collection of winter plants that will help you create an everlasting romantic Valentine Garden full of glistening, ruby red berries to symbolise your eternal love for that someone special.

Our Ruby Jewels Collection contains one of each plant in either a 7cm or 8cm pot.

Skimmia japonica subsp. reevesiana - Japanese Skimmia (8-10cm tall): The self-fertile Japanese Skimmia is a compact evergreen shrub with narrow, leathery leaves. This variety is hermaphrodite, meaning that the one plant will fruit and flower well on its own. Striking red berries decorate the plant all winter long, adding a splash of colour to your garden. 

Viburnum betulifolium - Birchleaf Viburnum (10-15cm tall): The Viburnum betulifolium will instantly give your garden a seasonal lift. The countless vibrant red berries elegantly sway in stunning clusters of glass-like spheres from autumn through to late winter. Due to the weight of its heavy crop of fruits, displayed in heart shaped bunches, the branches bend to create an enchanting archway. Not the smallest of shrubs (it can reach 3m in height) but some clever pruning will reduce its size easily.

Sarcococca ruscifolia – Fragrant Sweet Box (8-10cm): Sarcococca ruscifolia originates from China. The Fragrant Sweet Box is a fairly low growing evergreen shrub that will reach a maximum height of 2m making it a perfect addition to your patio pots. Masses of creamy-white flowers bloom between late December through to early February and have a strong honey-like fragrance which carries some distance, brightening up the drab days of winter.  Showy, spherical red berries decorate the shrub from November and remain on it all winter long.
