• Cotinus coggygria has the most beautiful Autumn colouration one ever did see, in the shades of orange and red. It grows naturally on shallow, rocky soil in Central and Eastern Europe and easily recognisable in Autumn as it turns to a colourful carpet. During Winter, the rounded, simple leaves drop, leaving behind large, "cloud like" fruits. The Smoke Bush is drought tolerant, can be grown in a pot and is not too fast growing.
