Quercus rubra - Red Oak

  • If you have space, this Red Oak will give you one of the best displays of colour, turning deep red and then brown in autumn before falling off the tree. From Spring to Autumn, the dark, thick, lustrous green leaves (greyish-white beneath) with its numerous toothed, pointed lobes are very ornamental. When the fallen leaves are dried flat under pressure, they can be used for many decorations and artwork as they have a very decorative contour.  Quercus rubra often only starts fruiting after two decades but then an abundant acorn crop is produced almost every year.  Large, germinated seed in a 8cm pot, it will start to grow in a few weeks.

  • We have excellent quality, 10-20cm tall plants on offer.
