Yuzu is a real gem for food enthusiasts, Yuzu is a rare and much-loved citrus with a
sharp, aromatic flavour somewhere between grapefruit, lemon, and mandarin. Its highly fragrant skin and tart juice are staples in Japanese cooking—used to
brighten sauces, miso, marinades, and even sweet treats.
Originating as a natural hybrid from China and Tibet, Yuzu is not only prized in the kitchen but also has a curious cultural twist: in Japan, whole fruits are traditionally floated in hot baths during the winter solstice to promote good health and ward off colds.
Compact and hardy (down to -10°C), it grows beautifully in a pot, reaching up to 2m, and is one of the few citrus varieties that can brave the British winter with a bit of protection.
We have excellent quality, 10 cm tall plants for sale.
The intended main use of this plant is to grow food for human consumption. We always recommend further research to learn the different ways in which the food source can be prepared and consumed.
