One of the most beautiful shrubby maples around, with red to crimson coloured foliage from mid-Autumn, enhanced by red winged fruits. It grows to only 3-4m tall, even if planted out, bushing out well (tends to have a shrubby habit). It is perfect for pots or bonsai, too. Drought tolerant and sun loving. Fully hardy.
