  • Collection contains one of each plant in either an 8cm or 9cm pot.

  • Large Fruited Pomegranate - Punica granatum 'Wonderful' (10-15cm tall): From the Italian variety, Punica granatum 'Wonderful' is a well fruiting and very hardy plant. It has a compact habit with its ultimate height reaching 1-1.5m. The pomegranate is the crown jewel of the fruit world, a power food high in antioxidants. It produces a terrific crop of large, leathery skinned fruits with an unmistakable, vibrant flesh that has a sweet but sharp taste. The juicy arils can be used as a colourful garnish, eaten fresh as a sweet-tart snack, dried or to make a bright red juice. Pomegranate juice is enjoyed as a beverage, cocktail mixer, and as an ingredient in savoury and sweet dishes and sauces. The fruit can also be cooked down to make jams and jellies. It prefers a hot position, for example against a south facing wall but will flower in a good protected sunny position. Best to keep it in a conservatory, greenhouse or poly tunnel to help develop the fruits and for a heavy cropping.

  • Blueberry - Vaccinium corymbosum (15-20cm tall): A deciduous shrub which has a rounded, bushy habit with multiple seasons of interest. From late spring to early summer, clusters of pearly white flowers bloom on the bare stems. In mid-summer, an abundant of medium-sized, juicy, edible blueberries form amongst its leaves. They will happily produce their fruits in a medium sized pot. The sweet tasting fruits can be eaten raw or can be used to make jams, tarts, and preserves. The berries are known to be full of vitamins and antioxidants. Loved by not only us but by the birds and the bees too! The fruits are followed by an excellent display of autumn colours.

  • Blackcurrant 'Titania' -  Ribes nigrum 'Titania' (25-30cm tall): The Titania variety is an easy to grow, mildew resistant shrub that produces an abundance of large, black berries from mid-summer over a long cropping time. Blackcurrants have a high juice content which is reasonably sweet and used to make cordials and even cassis. High in antioxidants and rich in vitamin C, the superfood can help give your immune system a boost. For optimum growth, best to plant in neutral soil (soil acidity can be corrected easily by adding ground limestone around the root area when it is planted out in the ground or re-potted). - Image by Karen Jackson
