Torreya nucifera is a rarely offered, fully hardy, slow growing but architectural looking small conifer tree. The Japanese Nutmeg-Yew has dark needles and plum sized fruits that have a large, edible nut. The nuts are known to be pressed for their vegetable oil and used in cooking. Makes a great bonsai.
