Dodonaea viscosa is a dioecious evergreen shrub with obovate or elliptic leaves. The Hop Bush is highly ornamental with beautiful purple foliage and clusters of green-red flowers which bloom during the summer months. On the female shrubs, winged or membranous angled fruits appear late summer. It is well suited to those who live in coastal regions and is suitable for growing in pots on the patio.
