It is possible to grow our spectacular Cercis siliquastrum in a pot on the patio. The Judas Tree flowers on bare branches before its kidney-shaped leaves appear. The clusters of pea-shaped blooms can smother the tree, bursting from the new young shoots, the surface of the bare branches and even the main trunk of the tree. To flower well it needs full sun and a long warm summer the previous year. The flowers are lightly scented. From late summer onwards, its large bunches of rich purple pods on the branches are quite showy and last into winter, while the foliage turns light yellow in Autumn. Its decorative, almost heart shaped leaves have a bronze colour in Spring when they appear.
- We have excellent quality, 8cm tall seedlings on offer.
