Crataegus persimilis is a wider than tall, large, thorny shrub. The Cockspur Hawthorn has red fruits that are excellent for the wildlife. It puts on a dramatic display of colour during the autumnal months with its spectacular red and orange foliage, instantly brightening up your garden on the duller days. During Spring, clusters of dainty white flowers bloom. For optimum growth it is best to position it where it will receive full sun and partial shade. It can withstand temperatures as low as -25c.
