Jasminum mesnyi is stunning when in flower, this medium sized arching shrub is native to China. From February onwards (often until the end of April) pretty, 3 lobed, dark green leaves and masses of bright yellow flowers open. The slightly scented flowers can reach up to 2 inches wide with double petals. They look like millions of primroses on a shrub. The Primrose Jasmine is very easy to grow and looks best when trained to a wall, or hanging down from a raised bed. It also can be grown in a large pot on the patio, or trained to a pergola / wall. Drought tolerant, preferring full sun. With it being a versatile plant, it is usually hardy enough in mild British climate.
