The Paeonia delavayi is a medium, ornamental deciduous shrub that can grow to a height of 2m, originating from China. During May – June, very showy flowers of a deep red and yellow stamens are produced reaching the size of 10cm in width surrounded by lanceolate leaflets. The Red Tree Peony is a frost hardy plant, resistant to temperatures as low as -15c. Full sun - partial shade and moist-well drained soil is best for its optimal growth and flowering.
