Passiflora caerulea is a charming, fruiting, winter hardy evergreen climber from South-America. From mid-summer, its distinctive structure is made up of captivating large flowers with an explosion of blue or purple filaments. Vibrant orange fruits can appear in Autumn if grown in a hot spot Midlands South or under cover further north. The egg-shaped fruits not only make a striking feature, but they also taste divine. It can be used to climb up on plants or objects to create a green screen. The Blue Passionflower grows best if planted against a south facing wall. For optimum growth, it is best to grow your Passiflora in moist but well-drained soil and where it will receive full sun. Hardy to -10C.
