Maackia amurensis is a small, deciduous tree with attractive foliage that is divided into 5-7 leaflets. During early summer, we are greeted with beautiful, fragrant, creamy-white flowers that hang in long erect panicles (butterflies and bees really do love these!). The Amur maackia is a great addition to the landscape and can be used as a shade tree for lawns. With age, the coppery-bronze bark exfoliates adding texture. It is hardy and can be grown in a large pot on the patio.
