Ultra-rare in cultivation, this trifoliate maple is closely related to the Acer griseum (Paperbark Maple) however, it has vertically fissured, greyish, loose bark on its adult trees which peels off in tight, decorative curls. The foliage has very fine hairs and turns a vibrant orange - light red during autumn. Fruit develops in clusters of three and contains hairy nutlets. An elegant, small, bushy tree with vibrant autumn colours, instantly adding a pop of colour to your garden during the duller days. Hardy to - 20C, growing best on moist, fertile but free draining soil. Slow growing, very hard to propagate.
- We have excellent quality, 10-15cm tall starter plants on offer.
