Aesculus turbinata - Japanese Chestnut


  • This tree has the largest leaves and lowered Chestnut. The flowers (inflorescences) can reach 2-3ft in length having a very attractive, yellow and pink colour. Its leaves can be as long as 3ft and 2ft wide, providing an architectural look. Not bothered by pests and diseases. Very rarely offered.

 Ultimate height: 20-30m (in 20-30years)

Flower colour: yellow, with pink dots

Flowering time: May-June

Hardiness: fully hardy

Growth rate: fast

Autumn coloration: yellow

Position: full sun or dappled shade, any fertile soil

Excellent quality, 30-40cm tall plant in a 9cm square pot.
