Colutea orientalis is a rarely available, woody, deciduous shrub with blue-green pinnate leaves that is a relative of the pea family. During the summer, the Red-flowered Bladder Senna treats us to a magnificent display of deep orange or yellow pea shaped flowers which are then followed by striking translucent seed pods that decorate the tree throughout autumn.
