Jacaranda mimosifolia - Jacaranda Tree


  • The Jacaranda mimosifolia is a fast growing, beautiful deciduous tree that can reach the height of 15m, originating from India.

  • With the tree being tall but wide it is great for bringing shade to the garden or to be used along streets.

  • From April- May the tree has an ornamental value. It produces masses of panicles that are made up of purple trumpet- shaped flowers that grow on leafless branches. The flowers are slightly fragranced.

  • The Jacaranda mimosifolia is hardy to -3c and is highly drought tolerant. The plant is best positioned where it will receive full sunlight.
