Malus transitoria - Cut-leaf Crabapple

  • This is a fantastic crabapple with cut-lobed leaves that can reach up 10cm in length, usually elongated (some are narrow like a willow leaf). The foliage turns a wonderful golden yellow in October, along with the countless tiny apples, putting on a spectacular autumnal display. The fruits can be used in jams, cakes, preserves but they are also a heaven for birds. The tree, if planted out, can grow substantial, 5m in height and in width but this is within 20 years. Easy to prune or can be kept in a large pot. Fully hardy and not fussy to soil.

  • We have excellent quality, 30-50cm tall plants on offer.
