Mandevilla laxa - Chilean Jasmine

  • Mandevilla laxa is a vigorous deciduous climber that can reach up to heights of 4m, originating from Northern Argentina. Its leaves grow in heart-shapes with slightly pointed ends.

  • During the late summer - early autumn, masses of white flowers are in bloom that give off the most sweetly scent. The white or cream flowers have broad petal lobes and can reach to 5-9cm across.

  • The ornamental climber would be ideal to grow on a sunny wall outside if it’s in a mild area or if you do not have these particular conditions in your garden then a conservatory would be equally as good. It isn’t a fully hardy climber, resistant to temperatures only as low as 5c. It likes moist but well drained soil.
