Pyrus boissieriana is a medium sized, extremely hardy pear tree with masses of white flowers in May. In autumn, its rounded leaves turn a golden yellow and golf ball sized, edible fruits are produced. The Iranian Pear can reach an ultimate height of 5-6m and can withstand temperatures as low as -25C.
