Quercus acherdophylla is a very rare, fast growing semi-evergreen tree with thick, ovate, leathery leaves. When young, the bark is greenish grey and smooth. Between October – November, acorns are produced. For optimum growth, the Mexican Oak is best to position the tree where it will receive full sun and partial shade. It can withstand temperatures down to -5c. An excellent start plant in a 7cm pot.
