Schisandra chinensis has a long history of use in traditional Chinese medicine to treat liver conditions, stomach disorders, and as a tonic to improve vitality and is also used in various formulas for fatigue and sleep.
- Magnolia Vine is a deciduous climber, vigorous enough to cover fences and old tree trunks, or trellises. Schisandra is fully hardy and grows best on moist but well drained soil, in dappled shade. The fleshy, cup shaped, white flowers are followed by striking red fruits resembling small bunches of grapes.s
