Ungnadia is rarely available to purchase. It is an attractive shrub with stunning fragrant pink flowers which appear in Spring on bare branches, followed by capsule like fruits pods which turn reddish brown when ripe. The shiny seeds range from dark brown to black in colour and are however poisonous. The leaves of this deciduous shrub turn a golden yellow in Autumn. Excellent as pots plants especially if positioned in the full sun as this species thrives in heat. Will grow to a maximum height of 2m and hardy to -5C.
- Bees love the flowers of this plant and the honey produced is very fragrant.
