  • Vitis labrusca Concord - Fox Grapevine (dark blue) Vitis labrusca Concord is a fast-growing, decorative, deciduous shrub that can reach to heights of 15-20ft. This particular vine is known to be one of the most cold tolerant grapevines, native to Eastern North-America.

  • Dating back to 1843, the Concord is one of the oldest American grape varieties. During May- June, yellow flowers are in bloom giving off a beautiful sweet scent.

  • When the climber is placed in a hot position against a South facing wall and receives the appropriate growing conditions, large bunches of blue-black grapes are produced. They can be as thick as 2cm, seedless and have a musky aroma but taste sweet. When eaten, the grapes are known to protect our skin, heart and brain from aging and inflammation due to them containing high concentrations of antioxidants.

  • It is a fully hardy plant that is resistant to temperatures as low as -20c.
