Pyrus cossonii is a medium sized, hardy pear tree with masses of white flowers in May. In autumn, its rounded leaves turn a golden yellow, small, edible fruits are produced. The African Pear can reach an ultimate height of 5-6m and can withstand temperatures as low as -15C.
