Sorbus devoniensis is probably a cross between the wild service tree and whitebeams, native in Devon, Cornwall and Ireland. It has a distinctive downy underside of the leaves. Rarely offered. The fruits can be eaten straight from the tree or can be used to make jams, jellies and smoothies. During early Summer, clusters of cream flowers bloom which are then followed by small brown fruits. By October, the fruits go soft and resemble to small medlars, the flesh has an excellent, fruity taste.
