Elaeagnus angustifolia is a small fruit tree or a large fruit shrub with extremely cold and drought tolerant, ornamental fruits. The Russian Olive has beautiful, fragrant, yellow flowers that bloom in late Spring which are followed by edible, silvery berries. The berries are roughly the size of a cherry and have quite a dry, mealy texture, however they are extremely sweet. The fruits can be eaten raw when fully ripe or can be made into jellies. Easy to grow and can even be placed in a large pot. Extremely hardy, withstanding temperatures as low as -30c.

We have excellent quality, 10-15cm tall starter plants on offer.

The intended main use of this plant is to grow food for human consumption. We always recommend further research to learn the different ways in which the food source can be prepared and consumed.
