The Piptanthus nepalensis is a rarely offered, small-medium semi-evergreen shrub that originates from China. It is easy to grow, thriving well in any form of soil that has good drainage. The shrub has 3 lobed, slightly hairy, evergreen leaves.
During the months of June and July, numerous erect, bright yellow flowers are in bloom putting on a stunning, colourful display.
It is a frost hardy plant, resistant to temperatures as low as -15c and somewhat drought tolerant. Full sun or half shade is best for its optimal growth and flowering.
