Prunus tomentosa - Nanking Cherry


  • A very rare, deciduous shrub that originates from Japan, Korea and China. Its foliage is bright green and is covered in fine hairs on the undersides of the leaves. In early spring, single white flowers appear which are followed by cherry sized, edible, red fruits.

  • For optimum growth it is best to position it where it will receive full sun and partial shade. It can withstand temperatures as low as -25c. An excellent starter plant in an 8cm pot.
