Vaccinium macrocarpon is a small evergreen shrub that is native to North America, Canada and NE-US. It is known for its slender branches that trail along the surface and curl upwards. From June to August, white to pink tube-shaped flowers bloom in clusters. From August through to October the seeds ripen. Dark red, peanut sized, edible fruits are produced which are known to be a super fruit due to it being rich in antioxidants and polyphenols. The fruits can be dried or used for juices, cakes, yoghurts.
