The dainty, semi-evergreen climber features vibrant green foliage and cascades of creamy flowers with purple centres. The blooms of the Cream-flowered Chocolate Vine possess an exceptional fragrance that will fill your garden with a warm, chocolaty scent from as early as March. If cross pollinated, the Akebia quinata cream-flowered can produce eye-catching, light pink edible fruits that are sausage-shaped and have a delicious tasting pulp.
The winter hardy climber has a medium growth rate and can reach more than 3m tall when fully established. It can be easily pruned, making it a great addition for either a large patio pot, or to be trained up a fence, trellis, pagoda, or wall. One of our top tips is to keep it close to a path or entrance of the house for you to fully appreciate its strong fragrance throughout spring!
We have excellent quality, 15cm tall starter plants on offer (they grow very fast, reaching 50cm by mid Summer). You will receive two plants in the one pot for cross-pollination.
