A beautiful, large, flowered lily tree, native to central and eastern China. It produces stunning white flowers with a pinkish hue at the bottom of the petals which unfold from furry, rounded buds as early as March. The flowers were a symbol of purity and planted in the grounds of the emperor’s palace. Makes a spectacular focal point to any border if planted against a south, west or east facing wall or in the lawn. It can even be grown in a very large container on a patio if sheltered from the wind. Architectural, leathery foliage develops shortly after the flowers fade, these have a purple hue when young. To add to this, showy, dark red fruits may develop by late Summer, decorating the plant throughout the Autumn months and creating a fantastic contrast when its foliage turns golden yellow.
- We have excellent quality, 20cm tall starter plants on offer.
