WELCOME TO JURASSICPLANTS NURSERIES AND RESEARCH

Pyrus ussuriensis - Manchurian Pear

  • Native to Eastern Russia, probably the hardiest Pyrus species due to it withstanding temperatures as low as -35C.  The Pyrus ussuriensis (4-5m when adult) is covered by pinkish flowers in Spring, fading to white. Its golf ball sized pears mature to brown and are a delicacy for birds and mammals, also edible to humans, especially after the frost "bite" it. The Manchurian Pear can be grown in a pot.

We have excellent quality, 20-25cm tall plants to offer.
